Inquest will be held on the fact of cutting down 300 sets of trees in Digomi

On the 18th of September on the 12th km. of Agmashenebeli Alley at the bend of Didi Digomi 300 sets of healthy firs were cut down.
“Ecological Law Centre” examined the actual situation. The territory had been alienated to a private person years ago though according to which law or rule is completely unknown as the mentioned strip is included in Tbilisi recreation zone.
In spite of the protests of population and “Ecological Law Centre”, the new owner has cut down absolutely healthy 300 firs. Concerned by the fact the lawyers of the centre appealed to government structures and Tbilisi City Hall. The protest of the population and “Ecological Law Centre” has had a result.
The deputy manager of inspection at the Ministry of Environmental Protection Ramaz
Mandaria sent a letter to “Ecological Law Centre”. The letter says that materials     concerning the mentioned case will be sent to the investigation department of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources.
The Centre hopes that the inquest will be conducted objectively and the offender will get deserved punishment.
