Center of Environmental Law saved square from destruction

On Budapeshti street, on a place of former military hospital, was planned construction of multi-storey residential building and, because of this, felling of about 30 healthy trees was planned.

Local residents asked the “Center of Environmental Law” for help, because this territory was the only resting and recreation area for them.

“Center of Environmental Law” asked Tbilisi city hall and a Ministry of Environmental Protection to carry out appropriate actions and hemd a press conference on this issue. City government met the demand of the Center: construction on this territory was cancelled and trees were saved.
