With the help of the “Center of Environmental Law” and Greens Party of Georgia, application of 2420 people, affected by oil eruption in the village Ninotsminda (Sagarejo region), was sent to Strasbourg Court of human rights.
The press conference was held in an office of Greens Party of Georgia. The lawyer of the “Center of Environmental Law” NIkoloz Mzhavanadze said, that litigation between affected people and the owner of damaged bore hole “Ninotsminda” Company continues for seven years.

“During the trial had been violated two articles of European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms: Article 6 – Right to a fair trial and Article 8 – Right to respect for private and family life, and because of  this, Center of Environmental Law has sent an Application to Strasbour Court of human rights” – said Nikoloz Mzhavanadze and added that every citizen, affected by oil erruoption in Ninotsminda asks for 50000 Lari for physical and moral damage.
Although it is proved, that oil eruption in Ninotsminda affected health of people, living in Sagarejo region and environment, neither Georgian Court, nor state institutions reacted. Giorgi Gachechiladze, leader of the Greens Party of Georgia, said that damaged bore hole belongs to “Ninotsminda” and “Canargo Georgia” companies, which are members of “Wissol” holding and Wissol is under the aegis of the President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili. This was the reason, why complaints of affected people were not satisfied.
