Center of Environmental Law participates in consultations about issues connected with reorganization of the Ministry of Environment Protection in the Parliament of Georgia

The Center of Environmental Law has clearly stated its position in the committee of environmental protection and natural resources of the Parliament of Georgia, where was held a discussion about issues connected with reorganization of Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources.

Pozition of the Center of Environmental Law and some other NGO’s was partly satisfied. Prticulary, the Agensy of Protected Areas will remain a part the Ministry of Environmental Protection. It was also suggested, that finally functions of the Inspection of Environmental Protection will stay in the Ministry of Environmental Protection. But, really, Ministry was daprived of those functions, which gave it the opportunity to control the environment. Because of all this, soon,  the Center of Environmental Law will appeal to the Constitucional Court due to reorganization of the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
