“Center of Environmental Law” becomes a member of the Forum of the Georgian national Platform of the Eastern Partnership civil society

On 7 May 2009 European Union offered a new form of cooperation – Eastern Partnership to the six countries of Eastern Europe: Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Belorus, Moldova, Ukraine. Initiated by the European Commission there was created a Forum of the Eastern Partnership civil society.

For coordinating the Forum of civil society there were created national platforms in every country. National platform consists of local non governmental organizations, NGO’s working in partner Countries and Professional associations among them. The “Center of Environmental Law” had become a member of the Forum of the Georgian national Platform of the Eastern Partnership civil society and on 13 November 2010 participated in the first meeting of National Platform, which was held in the Hotel Courtyard by Marriott in Tbilisi.  At the meeting there were considered issues of membership of the platform, competence, delegation to vote, structure of coordinative board, decision rules and other issues.  Coordinators of the working groups were selected and every group was asked to prepare recommendations for the Forum  of the Eastern Partnership civil society which will be held in Berlin. The “Center of Environmental Law” has presented it’s recommendations on environmental issues.
